Students living in Afghanistan
Girls living in Afghanistan apply through our partner, Victory Afghanistan, and begin in the Living Wisdom Afghan School.
Students are invited into the international school after they have attended the Afghan School for at least one year, completed a one-year trial course with Living Wisdom International, and reached proficient English.
To begin, contact Victory Afghanistan at Admin@VictoryAfghanistan.org.
Current site lists two different Victory Afghanistan emails — confirm which to publish
Common questions
Is the diploma recognized by universities?
Yes. Living Wisdom International (legal name Ananda Living Wisdom Schools of Nevada City) is a fully accredited online school through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), recognized worldwide since 1962. Our diploma supports admission to universities around the world.
Is this a religious school?
No. We teach universal qualities — patience, compassion, perseverance, calmness, kindness, service and inner joy — that anyone can develop regardless of belief. Practices like yoga, meditation and breathing exercises are taught as tools for focus and emotional balance. Our students come from many faiths and none.
What time are classes? We are not in California.
Our students live in more than 12 countries, so we schedule live classes across time zones. A full-time high school student is in live classes about 16 hours a week; exact times depend on where you live. Tell us your country and we will show you a real sample schedule.
How much time does my child spend on a screen?
About 16 hours a week of live classes, plus an hour of 1-on-1 advising. The rest of the program deliberately happens off the screen: exercise, a personal expertise project, service, reading and earning.
What if we can’t afford full tuition?
Because economic conditions differ so much from country to country, we work with every family to find a price that works. Tell us about your situation when you inquire; financial aid is arranged after acceptance.
Does my child need to speak English well?
All classes are taught in English. Middle school requires intermediate English; high school students should be comfortable in English discussion. If you’re unsure, let us talk with your child.
Can homeschoolers take just one class?
Yes. Homeschool students can join individual live classes from $450 per course per semester, or add weekly 1-on-1 advising, without enrolling full-time.
Do students ever meet in person?
Yes. Every year the school organizes a one-to-two-week Service Adventure Trip. Past trips include Switzerland, Mexico, Peru and Assisi, Italy.
